Tyrell Santora

Groton — Tyrell Joseph Santora, aka Ty-Ty, 9, of Groton, passed away Feb. 23, 2018, at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford.

He was born Aug. 12, 2008, in New London, the son of Kyle Connors and Laura Santora.

Tyrell was a third-grade student at Claude Chester Elementary School in Groton, where he was loved by everyone and known as “The Mayor of the School.” Tyrell touched many hearts with just a smile within the short time he lived. He was a very fun, energetic and positive little boy who loved to sing and dance with his parents. Tyrell enjoyed playing outside, going to the arcade and park, hanging out with his cousins and playing his games. He also made sure to not miss an episode of “Full House” and “Fuller House.” Overall, Tyrell was a great kid and enjoyed the life he was given.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by grandmothers Denise Simon and Jackie Connors; grandfathers Jimmie Spencer and Clinton Helligar Jr. and step-grandfather Jose Fortier-Medina; uncles and aunts Patrick and Samantha Santora, Greg Santora and Domonique Guess, Mark Santora and Abagail Stovall, Jordan Johnson, Laryssa and Darrius Clark and Mariah Reeves; and 13 cousins and great-uncles and -aunts.

Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London, with a service to follow at 6 p.m. Repass will be held at The American Legion, 74 Garfield Ave., New London.
