Waterford — Rosalia “Rose” C. Deurloo, 89, of Waterford, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Rose was born in Delft, Holland, where she grew up. She met her loving husband Gerrit Deurloo; they married and immigrated to Waterford, where they raised their family. She enjoyed all types of needlework and was a wonderful wife and mother.

Rose was predecease­d by her husband, Gerrit, in 1998.

Rose is survived by her two daughters and two sons-inlaw, Melinda and Richard Roberts of North Port, Fla., and Debbie and John Peabody of Waterford. She is also survived by her seven grandchild­ren and 13 great-grandchild­ren, along with her loyal companion, Coco, and her loving caregiver, Mary Groves.

Rose was a communican­t of St. Paul Church and a member of the St. Paul Crafters.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic. A celebratio­n of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
