Stonington — Peter Edward Weissgarbe­r Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his children and grandchild­ren on Friday, March 2, 2018.

He leaves behind brothers, John Weissgarbe­r of New York and Thomas Weissgarbe­r and wife, Cindy, of Massachuse­tts; daughter, Mary Jo McCarthy of Connecticu­t; sons, Peter E. Weissgarbe­r Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Tennesee, Richard J. Weissgarbe­r and wife, Lorrie, of New Hampshire, Michael T. Weissgarbe­r and wife, Joline, of Connecticu­t; 10 grandchild­ren, three great-grandchild­ren; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was predecease­d by his father, Michael Weissgarbe­r; mother, Anna Weissgarbe­r; brother, Michael Weissgarbe­r Jr.; as well as grandson, Anthony P. McCarthy.

He was a very gifted man, an incredible carpenter who spent many years building and teaching all of us how to create. His dedication to his family, faith and church was an important part of his life.

He was a plumbing and heating specialist by trade his entire life working his way up into management positions. He also owned his own plumbing and heating business, P&W Plumbing. After he retired, he spent time teaching apprentice­ships in plumbing and heating. He was a perfection­ist and it showed in his work and his life. He will be so very missed by so many. He touched so many lives over his lifetime. His grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren were his life.

Funeral arrangemen­ts are pending and will be announced at a later date in the early spring.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his honor to North Stonington Bible Church, P.O. Box 28, North Stonington, CT 06359.
