Drivers sue over speed cameras

Providence (AP) — Some of the thousands of drivers who received tickets from speed cameras in school zones in Rhode Island’s capital city have filed a class-action lawsuit seeking to get the program thrown out.

Around 12,000 tickets were issued from just six cameras in the city of Providence in the first month of operation.

A mayoral spokesperson would not comment.
