New London — Dwayne Stallings and Amanda Clark will be inducted into the Connecticut College Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 14. The 1998 women's soccer team will also be honored at the ceremony.

Stallings, a New London High School graduate, played on the men's basketball team and graduated from Conn in 1999. The 1998-99 team that he played on his senior year was inducted into Conn's hall in 2011. Clark, a 2005 graduate, was a two-time All-American in sailing. Ken Kline, a lifelong Waterford and Old Lyme resident, coached the 1998 women's soccer team.

Stallings, a guard, was the captain of the best team in program history. He led the nation in scoring as the Camels advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA Division III Tournament and went 28-1. He set single-season records for 3-point field goals (86) and steals (64) in 1998-99. He is also the program's all-time leader in steals (168) and finished with 1,093 points.

Stallings was named a 1999 Columbus Multimedia Honorable Mention All-American as well as an All-New England Small College Athletic Conference and All-ECAC First Team selection. He became the first Conn men's basketball alumni to play professionally when he signed a contract with the Westminster Warriors. He was inducted into the New London Athletic Hall of Fame (2011) as well as the New England Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the 1998-99 team. He pursued a career as a financial advisor with a focus on wealth management and retirement planning, and has been named one of the Top 100 Financial Advisors in America by Bank Investment Consultant magazine.

Clark finished her career as a twotime Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Women's All-American and a singlehanded national champion. She also helped the program place as high as fourth at the ICSA National Championships and advanced to the Sloop National Championships during her tenure as a student.

Clark's racing success continued after graduation, most notably when she represented the United States in the 470 Division at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, as well as the XXX Olympiad held in London in 2012.

After placing as high as eighth in the two-person women's sailing event at the Olympics, Clark also served a four-year term as a sailing representative for the United States Olympic Committee Athlete Advisory Council. She continues to race recreationally and coach youth sailors.

The 1998 women's soccer team put together one of the most memorable seasons that Conn College has ever had. The team, which finished 12-5, made a Cinderella postseason run as the lowest seed in its region by advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

The Camels first beat top-seeded William Paterson 2-1 in the opening round then beat second-seeded Williams College 1-0 in the regional final, avenging losses to both undefeated teams during the season. The team was ranked eighth in the final NSCAA national poll, the highest for any women's sport at Conn.
