Anna Strazzo

East Lyme — Anna M. Strazzo, 89, of East Lyme, died Thursday morning, April 5, 2018, at Bayview Healthcare in Waterford

She was born Sept. 20, 1928, in New London, the daughter of Fortunato and Maria (Calendo) Strazzo. Anna graduated from the former Chapman Technical School in 1946. She had worked in several retail stores in the area before joining the John Hancock Insurance Co., working a long and enjoyable career of 29 years.

She especially enjoyed driving and was very familiar with many attractions in many states which interested and encouraged her to become involved at the East Lyme Tourist Info Center where she volunteered for 11 summers. She also enjoyed her visits to the casino with her friends and late sister, and her Wednesday night visits to McDonald’s with her great-nieces, Victoria and Katie; and her great-nephew, Zachary and their mom.

She is survived by a brother; Anthony Strazzo and his wife, Marie, of Satellite Beach, Fla.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Angie Christiansen and Mary Benvenuti; and brothers, Joseph, Alphonse and John Strazzo.

Anna’s family would like to thank the staff of Bayview Healthcare for the kind and professional care that she received.

A graveside service will be held noon Monday at St. Mary Cemetery, New London. There are no calling hours.
