Stand behind Trump’s expulsion of Russians

-

The headline “U.S. expels 60 Russian diplomats” (March 29) neglects to mention the primary reason the Trump administration was compelled to take such an uncharacteristically truculent move against them. As reported by the New York Times and National Public Radio, the Russians were determined to have “hacked” numerous American power plants during the past two years but (fortunately) failed to compromise the overall American grid.

Had they been successful, and don’t think they are discouraged from trying again, they would have been in position to inflict the ultimate nightmare, a destruction of power resources that would revert us to covered wagon days.

Of the countless ramifications we would suffer, only one needs to be cited: namely, that millions of Americans would be expected to perish within months from dehydration, due to the lack of technologically provided water. Americans would co-opt barbarian philosophies simply to survive.

Donald Trump, however reticent he is on this most crucial of all issues, has taken the right step to inform our enemy such ruthless tactics will not be tolerated. However alienated many Americans may be from his sundry other myriad policies, it is imperative we all stand behind him on this one.
