David Pelletier
West Warwick, R.I. — David H. Pelletier, 66, of West Warwick, R.I., passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Kent Hospital in Warwick. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Karaniuk) Pelletier.
Born in Old Town, Maine, he was the son of Gloria (Moreau) Pelletier of Milford, Maine, and the late Herbert Pelletier.
David served in the U.S. Army, where he worked as an X-ray tech in Ethiopia during the Vietnam War era. Upon completing his service, he enrolled in the University of Maine, where he received a B.S. in mathematics. After graduation, he worked as a government contractor while also attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he received his master’s degree in computer science. During the last 20 years of his career, David was a computer scientist for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport. During his time at NUWC, one of his proudest accomplishments was working at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., for one year immediately following 9/11.
He was the devoted father of Sari Palumbo and her husband Michael of Warwick, R.I., and a loving “Pepere” to his granddaughter Skylar. He was the dear brother of Gary Pelletier and his wife Michelle of Eddington, Maine, and Susan Hein and her husband Douglas of Holden, Maine. He is also survived by loving stepchildren, nieces and nephews and devoted family friends.
His funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, in the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, R.I. Visiting hours are from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will be private.
