LOCAL FLEET RESERVE ASSOCIATIO­N TO MEET

Groton — The local Fleet Reserve Associatio­n will meet on April 10 at 6 p.m. at the branch home, 242 Thames St. All members in good standing are invited at attend.

Branch and Unit 20 will host breakfast on April 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. Shipmates and their guests who find it difficult to navigate the stairs to the second deck dining room can be served in the club area. As a reminder, smoking is not allowed in the club area from 9 to 11 a.m. during all breakfasts and during all dinner events. Volunteers to help with the breakfasts are always welcome. On April 14, Branch 20 will fulfill its Adopt-a-Highway obligation of cleaning up along Gungywamp Road. Volunteers are needed and will meet at Cherry Circle and Gungywamp Road at 8 a.m. to start the project. A signup sheet is posted in Club 20.

Branch and Unit 20 will hold their regular monthly meetings at 6 p.m. on April 19 at the branch home. Unit 20 will meet in the club area and Branch 20 will meet on the second deck. All members in good standing are encouraged to attend these meetings. Nomination­s for president and vice president of Branch 20 for the coming year will be opened at this meeting and remain open until the May meeting, at which time elections will take place.

Membership in the FRA is open to all active duty, retired, and veterans of the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Membership in the FRA Auxiliary, or Unit, is open to all spouses, children and stepchildr­en over the age of 16, parents, and grandparen­ts of FRA members in good standing.
