'HARVESTING STONES' NOMINATED FOR NEW ENGLAND EMMYS

"Harvesting Stones," Jerry Fischer's documentar­y about the Jewish farmers of eastern Connecticu­t, has been nominated for two Boston/New England Region Emmy Awards in the documentar­y and writing categories.

The film was produced in the Bridgeport studios of Frank Borres's American View Production­s, with Valery Grozak and Brian Katsis serving as cinematogr­aphers.

"Harvesting Stones" was screened twice on CPTV last May. In addition, the film, which premiered at the Garde Arts Center in New London, has been shown at the Hartford JCC, the Charter Oak Cultural Center, and in synagogues and historical societies throughout the state.

The awards dinner will take place on June 2 at the Marriott Boston Copley Place. There will be a reception at 5 p.m., with dinner and awards presentati­ons to follow at 6.

A donor is underwriti­ng attendance at the awards dinner for anyone who appeared in the movie. Early bird tickets are $116 per person by Monday, May 7. Ticket pricing goes up after May 11.
