Montville — Lois Marie Beatty, 58, of Oakdale, lost her battle with cancer on Sunday, April 22, 2018.

Lois was born in New London, on Dec. 22, 1959, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Julia Mieszkalski of Waterford.

For a number of years Lois provided a house cleaning service. She endeared herself to many of her clients who treated her like family and who were very supportive and generous to her. Lois enjoyed Mexican food, riding her ATV and being with her dog, Rhoady, whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her sisters, Rachel Armstrong and her husband, Richard, Ruth Menghi and her husband, David and Judy Mieszkalski; she also leaves her nieces, Elizabeth Menghi, Jen Muller and her husband, Steve; her nephews, Benjamin and Richard Armstrong; and her great-nieces and nephews: Hannah, her husband, Josh and their children, Wesley and Chloe; Cameron, Dylan, Isabelle, Nova and Evie.

Lois was an active member of the New London congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She shared her faith with those around her, especially in the last few weeks of her life.

A memorial service for Lois will be held at 1:30 p.m. May 12, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 57 Clark Lane, Waterford.

If you choose, in lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation in Lois’s name to the animal rescue organization of your choice or to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Waterford.

The family would especially like to thank the doctors, nurses and aides at the Smilow Cancer Center at Yale-New Haven Hospital, who went above and beyond in their care of Lois, as well as her many friends who helped her along the way.
