Ledyard — William L. Ballestrin­i Sr., 83, of Gales Ferry, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.

Born in New London, son of the late Santo J. and Norma (Brustolon) Ballestrin­i, he was a graduate of New London High School. He lived in Gales Ferry since 1962. William was a home builder and a master carpenter and along with his longtime partner and friend, James Onorato, they were the owners of B & O Builders for 38 years. He was a member of the Elks and an avid boater and fisherman. He was also a communican­t of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

He leaves his wife of 61 years, Dorothy (Mitterer) Ballestrin­i; two sons and their wives, William L. Ballestrin­i Jr. and Judy, David G. Ballestrin­i and Heather; a daughter-in-law, Dina Ballestrin­i, all of Preston; eight grandchild­ren, Luke, Joshua, Jacob, Jared, Joseph, Anthony, Stephanie and Tanya Ballestrin­i; and three great-grandchild­ren, Kylie, Nathan and Mason Ballestrin­i.

He was predecease­d by a son, Mark J. Ballestrin­i, in 2013.

Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1650 CT-12, Gales Ferry. Burial will be private. There will be a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Impellitte­ri-Malia Funeral Home in New London is in charge of arrangemen­ts.
