East Lyme girls cruise past NFA in ECC Division I opener

Norwich — Olivia Facchini had four goals and one assist as East Lyme won its Eastern Connecticu­t Conference Division I girls' lacrosse opener with a 19-8 win over Norwich Free Academy on Tuesday.

Caroline Healy and Karlie Rowe added three goals and one assist apiece for the Vikings (8-2, 1-0) while Julia Bates, Hannah Gellar and Anna Johnson each scored two goals.

Kayley Ericson led the Wildcats (75, 0-1) with three goals and one assist while Jess Bryan added two goals and one assist and Katie Kelly scored twice. In other games: • Lydia Tinnerello had six goals and three assists to lead Old Lyme to an 18-8 non-conference win over Waterford.

Anna Sather added five goals and one assist for the Wildcats (6-4) while Daisy Colvin had three goals and two assists and goalie Emily Ern made 15 saves. Meghan Foley scored three goals and Olivia Gianakos three for the Lancers (4-4).

• Maggie O'Leary scored seven goals and added two assists to power Fitch past Ledyard, 17-11, in ECC Division I action. Zoe Pearse had six goals and an assist while Valentina Silva, Danielle McLlauham, Jessica Russo and Diana Sefransky also scored for the Falcons (5-3, 1-0).

Megan Larmann led the Colonels (4-5, 0-1) with five goals and an assist, Renee Dupuis had two goals, and Maddie Pipech, Miranda Pearce, Sabrina Mitchell and Cassidy Carroll had one goal apiece.

• Kathryn Logel had five goals and an assist in Stonington's 15-4 win over Montville in ECC Division II. Hannah Lamb had four goals and an assist and Emma Sabbadini had three goals and two assists for the Bears (73, 1-0). Alexis DeLucia had two goals and Kenzie Ullrich and Ellie Bowman each had one for the Indians (2-7, 0-1).

Boys

• St. Bernard/Wheeler won its ECC Division II opener with a 13-3 win over Woodstock Academy.

Pat Brady and Scott Pion had five goals and two assists apiece for the Saints (8-1, 1-0) while Jack O'Leary finished with one goal and four assists and Billy Niles had two goals and one assist.

• Aaron Lahah scored three goals to lift Stonington past Montville 8-5 in ECC Division II. Max Mueller had a goal and three assists while Kronholm had a goal and an assist and goalie Ben Huynh made six saves for the Bears (5-4, 1-0).

Joey Andrews scored three goals and added an assist, and Sean Ventresca and Sam Kury also scored for the Indians (4-6, 0-1), and Kury also won 16 of 18 faceoffs.

• James McCoy had five goals and an assist to lead East Lyme past NFA 11-4 in an ECC Division I game. Connor Schofner had a goal and three assists for East Lyme (6-2, 1-0) and Andrew Alden, Ryan Belandese, Scott Galbo, Aiden Patterson and Robbie Swenson all had a goal and an assist. Chris Ladyga scored all four goals for the Wildcats (4-8, 0-1).

• Noah Rueling had four goals and five assists as Fitch downed Ledyard 21-1 in the ECC Division I opener for both. Riley Jordan had six goals and an assist for the Falcons (8-2, 1-0) and Bray Wilson had four goals and three assists. Zach Letellier added five goals. The Colonels are 0-10, 0-1.
