Vikings rally past Falcons

Siciliano lifts East Lyme to a 7-3 victory

Groton — Isabel Siciliano contribute­d a single, two triples and three RBI to lift the East Lyme High School softball team past Fitch 7-3 in an Eastern Connecticu­t Conference Division I softball game Monday.

The Vikings (9-5, 6-1) trailed 2-1 before rallying with three runs in the fifth and three in the seventh.

Allison Georgetti had a home run, single, scored a run and had an RBI for Fitch (6-9, 3-4) and Karly Morales added two singles and a double. In other games: • Sophia DiCocco struck out 15 with no walks as Norwich Free Academy beat Ledyard 4-1 in an ECC Division I game. Shea Gendron doubled twice and scored a pair of runs for NFA (11-4, 5-0). Ledyard is 8-7, 1-5.

• Hannah Mason's two-run single in the fourth inning held up as Killingly beat Montville 2-1 in an ECC Division II game. Alexis Michon and Jillian Murallo had two hits each for Montville (10-4, 4-3).

• New London swept a nonleague doublehead­er from Putnam, winning the opener 9-3 and the second game 15-0 in five innings. Jovanna Potter and Caylee Parker combined to pitch a seven-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the opener and Potter threw a one-hitter with six strikeouts in the second game.

Freshman Ella Cook had five hits on the day with a pair of doubles, classmate Finella Smith had four hits and three RBI with a double and two triples, Jaelynn Potter tripled three times and drove in four runs and Anaya Vega had four hits for the Whalers (3-11).

• Kaitlyn Davis and Julia Janca homered as Griswold beat St Bernard 15-1 in an ECC Division III game. Griswold (15-0) is ranked sixth in the GameTimeCT/New Haven Register state poll. Taina Quinones singled and scored in the fourth inning for St. Bernard (5-7, 3-5).

• Kacee Hirst pitched a five-hitter as Plainfield beat Wheeler 17-0 in five innings in an ECC Division III game. Julia Ahern had two hits for Wheeler (2-10, 0-7).

• Grasso Tech lost to Ellis Tech in a CTC game, 22-6 in five innings. Erin Blake and Keylin Robles had the only two hits for Grasso (0-9) and Blake scored twice.
