Christine White
Norwich — Miss Christine “Piggy” Patrice White, 17, of Norwich, born on Nov. 10, 2000, in New London, to Evelyn H. Lara-Mason and Christopher A. White, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 6, 2018, in Plainfield.
She was a two-varsity letter athlete and honor roll student, an expected graduate of Norwich Technical High School Class of 2018. Christine was a spirited daughter, sassy sister, funny aunt, affectionate granddaughter, playful cousin and loyal friend.
Christine radiated light, her energy was luminous lighting up every room she ever walked into and even our lives. Her spirit exuberated kindness and courage. Knowing Christine meant knowing what comedy was, what it meant to be adventurous and carefree, knowing what it meant to be warm and gentle. Loving Christine made us better people, it made our lives have more meaning. To have known Christine was to see the sun shine a little brighter, the world become a little better, and our hearts become a whole lot bigger.
She is survived by her sisters, Cheri Hope White, Chantel Christine White-Moynihan, Chandra Marie White and Abigail Michelle Lara-Mason; grandmothers, Patricia B. Smith and Deborah M. Ochoa; grandfathers, Leonard B. Smith and Joseph Peraza; grandparents, Donald G. and Patricia A. Didion; multiple aunts, uncles and cousins.
Christine’s hobbies included volleyball, tennis, dancing, cooking, and music.
Friends and family members may attend a memorial service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, officiated by Pastor Dennis Brennan, immediately followed by a celebration of life gathering from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Pleasant Valley Church, 20 Grove Ave., Groton.
