The Day

Child medicating parallels shootings

-

Over the years The Day has provided accurate and sensitive reporting of school shooting tragedies. However, it shares with the rest of American media a glaring failure to cite the concurrence of these nightmares occurring in the direct proportion to the burgeoning massive medication of our children, fueling a gargantuan $70 billion industry. Today, eight million American youngsters ingest psyche medication, a staggering one million of them preschoolers.

Consider that by far the greatest population of schoolchildren were the “Baby Boomers” of the 1950s and ‘60s who suffered a scant (relatively) 36 firearm incidents, less than two per year. That number doubled in the 1970s and ‘80s (72), nearly doubled again during 1990-2009 (131), and has acceleratingly surpassed that (172) in the past eight years, five months. (toward a rate of 414 through 2029). Meanwhile, doctors were simultaneously increasing the pushing of drugs on families, which makes perfect sense because they were profiting handsomely.

Superveningly the “shooter” list grew equally exponentially.

It is naïve for us to assume that our countless international enemies are disinterested in exploiting this disgrace to undermine America’s institutional faith and aggregate social tranquility. Lists of medicated kids are scarcely state secrets. It is imperative we objectively examine this horrific crisis closer and let the chips fall where they may. Let’s stop ostrich-ing.
