FLEET RESERVE ASSOCIATIO­N TO MEET JUNE 12 IN GROTON

Groton — The June Board of Directors meeting of the local Fleet Reserve Associatio­n will be held on June 12 at 6 p.m. at the branch home, 242 Thames St. All members in good standing are invited at attend.

Branch 20 will hold their regular monthly meeting on June 21 at the branch home at 6 p.m. Unit 20 will hold their regular monthly meeting on June 21 at 6 p.m. in the club area of the branch home. Installati­on of officers, board of directors, and board of governors will be held during the meetings. All members in good standing are encouraged to attend these meetings.

Membership in the FRA is open to all active duty, retired, and veterans of the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard, who have at least one day of enlisted service. Membership in the FRA Auxiliary, or Unit, is open to all spouses, children and stepchildr­en over age 16, parents, and grandparen­ts of FRA members in good standing. The 4th Annual Veterans and Family Picnic hosted by Branch 20 and U.S. Submarine Veterans Groton at the Groton Elks Lodge, 700 Shennecoss­ett Road, will be on June 23 at 1 p.m. All active duty, reservists, veterans, retired military and their families are invited to attend. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Club 20, SubVets, Groton Elks or at the door on the day of the event. Pre-sale is $10 for single, $15 for couple, and $20 for family. At the door and after 6 p.m., tickets are $5 more for each category. Five dollar discount for all active duty and family of deployed members. Cornhole tournament begins at 2:30 p.m.
