Ronald Bose

Pawcatuck — Ronald H. Bose, 74, of Pawcatuck, passed away after his latest battle with leukemia on June 11, 2018. He was the loving husband of Margaret F. (Hansen) Bose and together they shared 47 years of marriage. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., on April 27, 1944, he was the son of the late Herman Bose and Ottilie Bose Sampson.

Ronald earned his degree in engineering from the Academy of Aeronautics in Flushing, N.Y. He was a talented senior designer and engineer for both General Dynamics at Electric Boat and Grumman Aerospace. He loved nature, being outdoors, boating and fishing. A few of his favorite things to do were mowing the lawn with his beloved John Deere tractor and cleaning up the yard, which often ended in enjoyable trips to the town dump.

He loved his family most of all and was always thinking about them. He was a coach for his son’s Little League baseball team and loved to watch his grandsons play sports. You could often find him in his favorite red recliner watching football, golf or baseball while petting his beloved cat “Midnight” in his sunroom. He was also active in the community through the YMCA Silver Sneakers Program and was a member of the Marine Draftsmen Association Union. He was a wonderful singer and in his earlier years he sang in well-known Broadway shows with the Pfizer Players, such as “Hello Dolly” and “The Music Man.” His unique sense of humor will be missed but forever remembered by family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his loving wife, he leaves his two children Denise Bishop and her husband Keith of Cheshire, and Ron Bose and his wife Erin of Foxborough, Mass.; grandchildren Karl Bishop, Drew Bishop, Daniel Bishop and Tyler Bose; a cherished sister Marianne Brugger, along with nieces Linda Bender, Gina Scharf and Shari Gatto.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 13, at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home, beginning at 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at River Bend Cemetery, Westerly.
