The tradition of the spy novel is rich and storied, and author Daniel Silva is unquestionably one of the all-time greats along with Graham Greene, Ian Fleming, Eric Ambler, Robert Ludlum, John LeCarre, Frederick Forsythe, Len Deighton, Joseph Kanon, Phillip Kerr, Allan Furst and more.

In any case, Silva is the author of the 21 books, many of which star Israeli secret agent/part-time art restorer Gabriel Allon and includes newly published “The Other Woman.” This time out, Allon has to identify a Russian mole who has successfully wormed his (or her) way into Western corridors of power. A lost love, a memoir-in-waiting, a kidnapped child — all possibly linked to Allon — come into play in vicious and clock-is-ticking fashion.
It’s great, then, that Silva appears today at Watch Hill Chapel to discuss “The Other Woman” and his career. Silva will be in conversation with his wife, CNN correspondent Jamie Gangel, and the event benefits the Literary Volunteers of Washington County.
