Rushville, Ill. — Gregory David Driscoll, 60, of Rushville, passed away at 5:44 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at his residence.

He was born on Aug. 6, 1957, in Portsmouth, N.H., the son of John Francis and Lorraine (Frenette) Driscoll.

He married Debbie Hewitt in Rushville on April 26, 1994. She survives along with his mother of Beardstown, Ill.; three children, Skyler Driscoll and Lindsey, Lily Belle Driscoll and Brady Driscoll, all of Rushville; one grandchild, Jason Driscoll; two brothers, Paul Driscoll of Rye, N.H., and Wayne Driscoll and Cindy of East Kingston, N.H.; and a sister, Gail Walsh and Don of Unionville.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Greg served in the U.S. Navy from April 12, 1977 to May 1, 2007 earning the rank of command master chief and serving as C.O.B. (chief of boat) on board the USS Connecticu­t and USS Greenling. He worked as a S.T.A. at the Rushville Treatment & Detention Facility. He was a member of the Rushville HOPE church where he served on the board of trustees. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. One of his greatest passions was watching and attending Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics games with his family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at Worthingto­n Funeral Home with Rev. John Glennon and Rev. Rose Ross officiatin­g. Interment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery with military honors by Gutherie Pierce VFW Post #1239 and U.S. Navy Honors Detail. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
