Matthew Molinski
Waterford — Matthew T. Molinski, 36, of Waterford and Machiasport, Maine, entered eternal life on Monday, July 16, 2018.
Born in Exeter, N.H., he was the son of Deborah and Shawn Hallisey and George C. Molinski Jr. and Deborah Gardner. He resided in Connecticut for the last 16 years, previously living in Machiasport and Cutler, Maine.
A 2000 graduate of Washington Academy, Matthew’s love in life was the exploration of the outdoors and all of nature. As a child, the oceans, lakes and forests were his playground and all of God’s creatures found within. Matthew was an avid gardener and landscaping was his canvas. His knowledge and appreciation of the plants, trees and earth was astounding. At the age of 5, National Geographic and encyclopedias were his reading materials of choice. Matthew adored his siblings and was devoted to sharing his love of nature with them.
Matthew walked his own path through life, using his employment choices as educational tools as well. He was employed in landscaping, oyster farming, salmon hatcheries, commercial fishing and vineyards.
He is survived by his parents; grandparents, Carole Molinski of Cutler, Maine and Lillian Dwelley of Machias, Maine; four sisters, Kacey Molinski of New Hampshire, Alana Hallisey Augusto of Massachusetts, Ariel and Mariah Hallisey of Connecticut; and a dearly beloved younger brother, Noah Hallisey of Connecticut; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Blessed are we who knew Matthew and the special way he touched our hearts. His devotion to his family and search for knowledge will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday Aug. 25, at the Machiasport Congregationalist Church, 396 Port Road, Machiasport, Maine.
