JoAnn Jones

Norwich — JoAnn (Cassanerio) Jones, 63, born on Aug. 23, 1954, in Nashua, to the late John and Louise Cassanerio of Niantic, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, with family by her side.

JoAnn was the beloved wife of David Jones of Norwich. She is survived by her sisters, Nancy Bergeron of Stone Mountain, Ga. and Carol Aksterowicz of East Lyme.

JoAnn will be remembered for her selfless, giving nature, quiet personality and the joy she gave to others through a kind word or deed. She shared her creativity, imagination and gift for making every place special by creating magical holiday experiences for her family, and delighted her neighbors and friends with the charming front porch décor that changed with the seasons.

The family would like to express special thanks to the quality care and compassion provided to JoAnn and her family by the staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center in Waterford and the Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, with a special thanks to Jackie.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in JoAnn’s name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or a donation of blood to the American Red Cross.

Friends and family are invited to attend the celebration of life on Saturday, Aug. 25, at Mohegan Sun Golf Club, 7 Dows Lane, Baltic. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the celebration will begin at 5:30 p.m.
