OPERATOR OF UNLICENSED AUTO REPAIR SHOP CHARGED

- — Brian Hallenbeck

Ledyard — An investigation into J & K Towing, an unlicensed auto repair shop, has yielded a second arrest.

Jessica L. Carlebach, 42, of 194 Whalehead Road, Ledyard, was charged Tuesday with operating a repair shop without a license, police said.

The investigation followed the Ledyard Police Department’s receipt of a February complaint from an individual who reported paying in advance for vehicle repairs J & K failed to perform. Police discovered that the state Department of Motor Vehicles had denied the shop a license.

Carlebach, arrested on a warrant, was released on a promise to appear Sept. 13 in New London Superior Court.

In July, police arrested Kyle Hair, 38, of the same Whalehead Road address, on the same charge. Wednesday afternoon.

State police were dispatched to the airport in response to a call about a “minor disturbance” aboard an incoming American Airlines flight, according to a police report. While interviewing Wilson on the jetway linking the aircraft and the airport terminal, “she became belligerent towards the troopers, and caused a disturbance,” police said.

Wilson, 45, of Lebanon, Tenn., was charged with second-degree breach of peace and later was scheduled to appear Sept. 13 in Superior Court in Enfield.

Reportedly, Wilson was involved in an altercation with another passenger on the flight.

Her first single, “Redneck Woman,” was released in early 2004 and was a hit on the country charts.
