INDEPENDENT PARTY ENDORSES MASTROIANNI FOR 43RD DISTRICT SEAT

-

Shaun Mastroianni of Stonington, the Republican candidate for the 43rd District state House seat, announced Monday night that he has been endorsed by The Independent Party of Connecticut.

This means that Mastroianni’s name will appear on both the Republican and Independent ballot lines on Election Day. He is challenging Democrat Kate Rotella of Mystic for the seat.

“I am excited and honored to be endorsed by both the Republican and Independent parties and I look forward to serving the residents of our great communities, Stonington/ North Stonington,” Mastroianni said. “The Independent Party’s goal of non-partisan problem solving matches the approach I plan to follow if voters send me to Hartford to be their voice, and it’s the path that we need more often in the legislature to get our state’s economy firing on all cylinders.”

The Independent Party has endorsed several candidates this year, including John Scott of Mystic, the Republican candidate for the 40th District House seat.

“We believe Shaun Mastroianni will be a fresh independent-minded voice in the state legislature seeking an accessible and responsible state government that works for all residents,” said Michael Duff, state chairman of The Independent Party of Connecticut. “Shaun’s views on government spending, taxes, overall budget reform and the dire need for economic growth reflect our goals. We enthusiastically endorse Shaun Mastroianni’s candidacy, and look forward to his victory in November.”

The 43rd District comprises Stonington and North Stonington.
