Dunedin, Fla. — Estelle Goode Miller Washington, 97, of Dunedin, Fla., formerly of New London, passed away Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at Mease Dunedin Hospital. She was married to her husband Hosie on March 29, 1959, and later retired to Dunedin in September of 1989.

Estelle was a member of St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church of Clearwater, Fla., the St. Petersburg Northerner­s Club, past president of the Fairway Estates Women’s Club, 10-year volunteer at the Dunedin Arts Center, and 10-year member of the Dunedin Country Club. While in New London, she was employed by the State of Connecticu­t at the Seaside Regional Center, owned and operated Many Splendid Things Antique Shop and the Red Parrot Tea Room on Bank Street. Estelle enjoyed antiquing, interior decorating, gardening and oil painting.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved and devoted husband Hosie, daughter Lois Miller Hernandez, sons James Robinson and Keith (Lori) Robinson of New London, Troy (Sandra) Robinson of Baltimore, Md., and Derek (Wilhelmina) Robinson of North Carolina, grandchild­ren Angela and Johnny Hernandez of Norwich, great-grandchild­ren, and a host of nieces, nephews, her Florida family and friends in Dunedin. She was predecease­d by a daughter Jacqueline.

A Celebratio­n of her Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1 Garvin St., New London. Visiting hours will be held at 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
