Deborah Taylor
Norwich — Deborah M. Taylor, 72, of Norwich, passed away on Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on Oct. 26, 1946, she was the daughter of Anna A. and Morgan Taylor. She was a graduate of the University of Connecticut.
Deborah was employed by the Connecticut Department of Children and Families in Norwich from 1982 until her retirement in 2009. She was a dedicated social worker who positively touched and improved the lives of all she worked with.
Deborah enjoyed music and books. She had an extensive, eclectic collection of both. She liked to introduce her friends to different authors and artists she discovered. She generously requested that her book and cd collections be donated to the Otis Library.
Deborah loved nature, the ocean, walking on the beach and just being outdoors. She was an avid cyclist who biked daily for many years, in all seasons and weather, until she was no longer able to. Biking was her life’s passion. She also enjoyed swimming at the YMCA and going to the gym.
She is survived by her sister, Susan Taylor; nephew, Tim Noonan; niece, Emma Powell; twin grandnephews; and many devoted friends and coworkers.
A memorial gathering of friends and family will be announced at a later date.
Due to her love of animals, especially cats, donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 169 Colchester Road, Quaker Hill, CT 06375.
