Steinhatch­ee, Fla. — Tyler Jacob Quidgeon, 20, died of natural causes unexpected­ly at home, Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018.

Born in Norwich, he was the son of Joseph Alan Quidgeon Jr. and stepson of Andrea (Burridge) Quidgeon, both of Uncasville and mother, Tawanna (Corbin) Quidgeon of Ocala, Fla.

Tyler was a member of the Mohegan Tribal Nation and enjoyed attending many tribal functions. After graduating Montville High School, where he proudly wore #15 as the school’s quarterbac­k, he attended Saint Thomas More, Southern Connecticu­t State University and continued studies at Three Rivers Community College, working toward a degree in business management. He held several service related jobs at Mohegan Sun Casino Resort during summer breaks while attending school.

Tyler was a loving, giving and athletic young man. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, always putting others before himself. He had a love and respect for many sports, including basketball, track and football. His dream was to one day play for the Florida State Seminoles.

Above all, Tyler was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin to many.

Surviving is both his parents and stepmother; two brothers, Ryan Alan Quidgeon and Alex Connor Quidgeon of Uncasville; grandparen­ts, Joseph Alan Quidgeon Sr. and Deborah Ann Quidgeon of Uncasville and Robert and Janice Corbin of Taylor County, Fla.; grandmothe­r, Leisa Corbin of Ocala, Fla.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tyler was a huge giver, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tyler’s name to the Montville Youth Football League, P.O. Box 252, Oakdale, CT 06370.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at Fort Shantok Burial Grounds.
