Rockford, Ill. — Mary L. Schramm, 91, of Rockford, formerly of Ledyard, passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Oct. 1, 1926, in Westbrook, the daughter of the late Matthew and Mildred (Hall) Piscatelli Sr.

Mary enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing bingo, crabbing, playing cards, playing slot machines and doing jigsaw puzzles. Most of all, she loved the New York Yankees.

Mary cherished the time she spent with family and friends. She took pride in raising her daughters, and helping to raise her grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r, great-grandmothe­r, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Richard) Watton Pederson and Clara (Michael) Kopyciensk­i; grandchild­ren, Daniel (Beth) Watton, Dawn (Raymond) Hooper, Aaron (Aimee’) Brad Watton, Christy (Robert) Burton; great-grandchild­en, Olivia Watton, Deanna and Rachel Hooper, Ashlyn, Aaron, Cierra, and Cerenity Watton, and Elizabeth Burton; siblings, Gerald Piscatelli, Jacqueline Treola and Althea Rivard. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary is predecease­d by her brothers, Alexander, Matthew, John and William Piscatelli; sisters, Anna Strickland Drake, Beverly Bittner, Shirley Tucker, Barbara Dean, Sandra Proctor, and Pauline Proctor; son-in-law, David Watton Sr.; and grandson, David Watton Jr.

Her family will greet relatives and friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St., Mystic. A funeral service will immediatel­y follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. At 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, all are invited to gather at the funeral home to proceed to Elm Grove Cemetery in Mystic for an 11 a.m. graveside service.

Donations may be in her name to Home/Heroes on the water.
