Marjorie Forgione

Hanover, N.H. — Marjorie R. Forgione, 93, died Sunday afternoon, Sept. 9, 2018, at the Hanover Terrace in Hanover, N.H.

She was born on Aug. 27, 1925, in Waterford, the daughter of Henrietta (Schlink) and Benton Chase Kennedy, and was the wife of recently deceased Ernest A. Forgione, whom she married in Boston, Mass., on July 23, 1944.

She graduated from New London High School, Class of 1943. After high school she was employed by Southern New England Telephone Company, a job she loved and was proud to have held. It was the only job she held outside the home, prior to having her children. Being a homemaker was her life’s joy, endlessly providing for her family with her cooking and sewing.

She is survived by her daughter Eileen A. Gibson of Stillwater, Minn.; sons Ernest A. Forgione Jr. of Bowdoinham, Maine and David P. Forgione (Martha) of Woodstock, Vt.; sister Betty Mitchell of Milford; five grandchildren, Lisa, Kelly, Jessica, Justin and Lauren; and three great-grandchildren, Alicia, Orion and Teagan.

Relatives and friends will gather for a visitation at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 3 Charles St. (corner of Charles and Middle), East Weymouth, Mass. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart Church, 1203 Commercial St., East Weymouth, Mass., and burial at 1:15 p.m. in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne, Mass.
