WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S IS TODAY AT OCEAN BEACH PARK
New London — Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. today at Ocean Beach Park.
Participants will complete a 2-mile walk and will learn about Alzheimer’s disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical studies enrollment and support programs and services from the Alzheimer’s Association.
Walk participants also honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease with the poignant Promise Garden ceremony. The event is emceed by Teresa Berry from Soft Rock 106.5 WBMW.
“We are hopeful the community will come out and support us raising money for a cure for Alzheimer’s. For me, the walk is personal because I watched my grandmother suffer from this dreadful disease. The walk signifies what our community can do to fight Alzheimer’s when we come together,” said Greg Brown, the manager of the New London walk.
In addition to the 2-mile walk, participants will enjoy live entertainment by Vince and Randy and The Carolans and a MixxedFit warm-up by Tricia Morales.
