Norwich — Anne “Henchie” (Yoser) Hertz, 91, of Norwich, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, surrounded by family at Harrington Court Nursing home in Colchester.

Anne was born in Norwich, May 24, 1927, the oldest child to Hyman and Betty Yoser. Anne graduated Norwich Free Academy, Class of 1945. After graduation, Anne was employed as a bookkeeper at Golmans Tire Shop.

She met the love of her life, Ted Hertz, in 1947 and wed on June 5, 1949.

In addition to her husband, she leaves behind four beautiful children. Three daughters, Cheryl Latman of Norwich, Judith (Robert) Disch of Niantic and Eileen “Wendy” Berman of Montville; and one son, Michael Hertz of Norwich. She survived with the love of brother, Walter Yoser from New Jersey; and her seven grandchild­ren, four great-grandchild­ren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predecease­d by her brother, Carl Yoser from California.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and certified nurses aides at Harrington Court along with the Hospice staff from Mosaic care for their excellent care, support and love.

Family and friends are asked to gather at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept 16, for a service at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich. Burial will follow at Hebrew Benevolent Associatio­n Cemetery #3, 62 Middle Road, Preston. The Family will be observing Shiva at Anne’s family home in Norwich between 10 and 3 on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Alzhiemer’s research via the Alzhiemer’s Foundation act. alz.org.
