The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT will host a workshop about “How to Become a Translator or Interpreter” on Friday, Sept. 21, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Chamber’s office, 914 Hartford Turnpike, 2nd floor, Waterford. Presented by Language Link Corporation, this workshop teaches the protocols of professional interpreting practices and shows guests how to put their language skills to good work. The Young Professionals of Eastern CT and the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT’s Community Concierge program have organized “Adulting 101: Resource Expo for Young Adults,” taking place Thursday, Oct. 4, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Three Rivers Community College, 574 New London Turnpike, Norwich. This resource expo is intended for young adults learning life skills, personal growth, and long-term financial stability. This event is part trade show, part workshop series. Attend a number of seminars or explore display tables from local businesses. Professional headshots will be offered for a $20 fee.
