Alexandrea Hunt
Cambridge, Mass. — Alexandrea “Alex” Hunt, Ph.D, 37, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, in Cambridge.
Alex was born Dec. 12, 1980, in New London, to Peter A. Hunt, PA-C and Patricia A. Hunt, RN. She attended St. Bernard School in Uncasville and New York University, and held degrees from the University of Connecticut and Temple University with a focus on social psychology and qualitative studies. She lived in New York, N.Y., and Philadelphia, Pa., before settling in Cambridge, Mass. for work as a health researcher at C Space in Boston, Mass.
Alex was a consummate professional in her career; she applied her trademark intelligence and curiosity to any project she encountered. With her skills and critical thinking, Alex helped medical professionals and pharmaceutical companies solve problems they might have not even fully recognized, and always spoke honestly about servicing the client’s needs. These qualities extended into her friendships as well; Alex always looked to connect with people on their level and provide support, whether it be lending an empathetic ear or sharing new experiences. She also was known for her razor-sharp wit and sense of humor, and enjoyed reading, cooking, exploring new places, trying delicious food, and taking care of her miniature schnauzer Akagi.
Alex was preceded in death by her father, Peter; and all her grandparents.
She will be sorely missed by her mother, Patricia, of New London; as well as her sister, Meg Hunt; and brother-in-law, Mike Freeman, both of Portland, Ore.; and her godmother, Michaeline Hafner of Texas. She also leaves behind vast range of friends spanning from New York, New Jersey, Boston, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, and beyond.
A private Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church in New London, with a memorial service to come later, also in New London.
