Orabelle Cofone
Pawcatuck — Orabelle “Billie” (Shea) Cofone, 95, formerly of Pequot Trail, Pawcatuck, died peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert E. Cofone.
Born in Stonington, Oct. 5, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Melva (Moran) Shea.
Billie, as she was fondly called, had been a buyer and fashion model for the former Outlet Department Stores and several large department stores in Providence, before marrying her husband. She later helped him with the daily operation of the former Westerly Drug Store and later the E-Z Package Store.
She was an avid golfer and an accomplished artist.
Mrs. Cofone will be sadly missed by her daughter, Jane E. Cofone of Groton, and Cape Cod. She also leaves her brother, Dr. Jeremiah Shea of Groton; and her sister, Margaret Picazio of Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister; Rosalind Clarke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at St. Pius X. Church, 16 Elm St. Westerly, R.I. There is no cortege from the funeral home; calling hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be in River Bend Cemetery.
