Ellen Corrigan

-

Myrtle Beach, S.C. — Ellen T. Corrigan, born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Sept. 21, 1938, was reunited with her husband and love of her life on Oct. 2, 2018, after a hard but courageously fought battle with cancer.

In her personal and professional life, Ellie was a fantastic caretaker, working in nursing homes and private care. Although she took so much pride in that role, it is only one of the many hats that she wore. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Ellie, also knew her to be the best mother and greatest grandma there was. Mostly everyone who knew her called her mom or gram. Her warm and welcoming nature was immeasurable, and with all of the love that she gave, she received. Ellie was a woman that anyone could go to for an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and even a good laugh.

Ellen is predeceased by her parents, James and Helen Mcallister; her son, James Brennan; and daughter, Virginia Gagliano.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, James’ wife Patricia Brennan, Luke Brennan, Daniel and Kelly Brennan, Angela and Edward Rosacker, and Kimberlee and David Wilkinson; her many grandchildren, including Paige and Camren Wilkinson, Brayden Rosacker, James Jr. and Ryan Brennan, Amber Lapointe and her newborn daughter Elena; as well as several other great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Ellie’s life will be held at a later date, to be determined. The family is asking in lieu of flowers for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
