Aquiles Faustino

Groton — Aquiles V. Faustino, 75, of Groton, passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at his residence.

He was born in Leyte, Philipines, on May 12, 1943, the son of Amando and Esperanza Vallar Faustino. He married Bertha Panganiban, on May 6, 1967, in New London; she survives.

Aquiles served 22 years in the Naval submarine service and after his retirement he worked as a mail sorter at the Post Offices in New London and Norwich.

He is survived by his sons, Aquiles V. Faustino Jr. and Ambrose P. Faustino; and his daughters, Charito and Atlantya Faustino; his grandchildren, Margie, Lynda, Ambrose W. Jr., Aquiles G. III and Amanda.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St. Interment with military honors will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London. Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, a love donation may be made to the family to assist with arrangements.
