The Day

Starry night

Apparently, Josh Groban can do pretty much anything. He plays a straight-laced cop — and Tony Danza's son! — on a new Netflix series, “The Good Cop.”

A few years back, he portrayed a grade-A jerk in “Crazy, Stupid, Love” and was Andy Bernard's brother for a couple of “Office” episodes.

He became a hefty (well, heavily padded), rather unhappy Russian in the fabulous “Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812” on Broadway and earned a Tony nomination for it.

But Groban's real métier is music. His forceful, throwback baritone was what first brought him to prominence, powering such songs as “Raise Me Up” and “To Where You Are.”

Groban is performing a concert Saturday night at Mohegan Sun Arena, and as if that isn't enough of an enticement for fans of big voices, get this: also on the bill is Idina Menzel. The “Wicked”/“Frozen” star not only sings like an angel in concert, but she also displays an irreverent personality. Josh Groban, 8 p.m. Saturday, Mohegan Sun Arena; with Idina Menzel, $54-$94; 1-800-745-3000.
