With another vote, freedom slips away

-

Since 1776 this nation has been free from the hideousness that went on for thousands of years prior, when elites of various sorts ruled everything human. I have lived more than onethird of those free years and can't feel luckier than being born an American. But I fear for you. Today, I'm ready to leave as death approaches. I see the same things happening in our country as described by Alexander Solzhenitsyn as the beginning of the communist revolution in Russia.

Paid gangs attack opposition figures and demonstrate. The same news media parrots party doctrines, humiliating anyone who opposes party views.

As the movement grows so does the loss of freedom. Big government will legislate your every move, removing choice. Resistors will be attacked, arrested, jailed, disappear. The police won't protect you. You will fear them.

Government employees become corrupted by fear that any slip or suspicion of disloyalty will lead to their elimination.

Since the Vietnam War, communists have invaded the Democratic Party because liberals are susceptible to the arguments that the aims of the left are for the wellbeing of the poor — always the sign of political falseness. The elite do not give a damn about the poor. The synonyms for politics are: elite, cunning, crafty; arch, shifty, selfish, conniving, enriching, crooked, immoral and dirty rats.

It's human nature. Howard Flora Ledyard
