Gail Webman
Norwich — Gail Webman, 74, died at her home in Norwich on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, after a long and courageous battle against Huntington’s disease (HD).
Gail immigrated to the United States in 1949 with her Holocaust survivor parents, Julia and Szloma Gejdenson and her infant brother, Sam. They settled on a dairy farm in Bozrah which still remains in the family. She attended local schools, graduating from the Norwich Free Academy in 1962 and the University of Connecticut in 1966. She married her husband, Ken, in 1968. They were married for 50 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by their two sons, Larry of New York City and Ben (and his fiancée, Jennie) of Oakland, Calif.; and her two brothers, Ike of Bozrah and Sam Gejdenson (Betsy) of Branford.
Gail was a social worker for the CT State Welfare Department and worked on her brother’s congressional campaigns performing data processing and computer operations. In addition to playing bridge, she enjoyed tennis and bowling until HD limited those activities. She was a member of Temple Emanuel and its Sisterhood and was known as an excellent cook and an outstanding baker.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at Temple Emanuel, 29 Dayton Road, Waterford, with interment following at the Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery #3 in Preston immediately following the service.
