• Connecticu­t College’s was named New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week in women’s hockey on Monday. Cross, a senior forward, helped the Camels go 1-0-1 on the road during a season-opening series at Amherst, factoring in three of Conn’s four goals. She scored the tying goal with less than five minutes remaining during Friday’s 2-2 draw before scoring the first goal and setting up the game-winner in a 2-1 win over the Mammoths on Saturday. • Coast Guard Academy’s was named New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week in men’s basketball. Benson, a senior forward, averaged 17.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game as the Bears were a perfect 3-0. He shot 62.1 percent during the week (18-29), had 17 points in a win at Salve, a career-high 24 in a win over Medgar Evers and finished with 12 points in a win over Wentworth.

• Mitchell College’s was named New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in men’s basketball. Santiago, a senior center, averaged team highs of 20 points and 14.5 rebounds last week at the Lafrance Hospitalit­y tournament. He had 19 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Lehman, then added 21 points and 16 rebounds in a loss to host UMass Dartmouth in the final, shooting 62.1 percent from the floor in the two games and made the all-tournament team.
