Ariana Grande releases new docuseries

Ariana Grande released a docuseries Thursday chronicling her 2017 Dangerous Woman world tour, as well as the making of and release of her latest album, “Sweetener.”

The pop star’s four-episode series, “Dangerous Woman Diaries,” tracks everything from studio sessions with Pharrell to intimate family moments with her mother and grandmother, plus a healthy dose of Grande’s impressive Australian accent.

The Dangerous Woman tour wasn’t without strife; in May 2017, a suicide bomber killed 22 fans following a stop at the Manchester Arena in England.

While the series steered clear of the shocking attack’s immediate aftermath, episode four did include a letter Grande, 25, wrote to fans eight months later, in February 2018.

“It’s impossible to know where to start or to know what to say about this part. May 22nd, 2017 will leave me speechless and filled with questions for the rest of my life,” she wrote.

“Music is an escape. Music is the safest thing I’ve ever known … When something so opposite and so poisonous takes place in your world that is supposed to be everything but that … it is shocking and heartbreaking in a way that seems impossible to fully recover fro m… I think of Manchester constantly and will carry this with me every day for the rest of my life.”

Grande suspended her tour for two weeks following the attack, and said in a recent interview that she suffered “really wild dizzy spells” and intense physical anxiety in the months after.

“You hear about these things. You see it on the news … It makes you sad, you think about it for a little, and then people move on,” she told Elle in July. “But experiencing something like that firsthand, you think of everything differently. Everything is different.”
