WOMAN CHARGED WITH STABBING AT HOTEL; VICTIM IN HOSPITAL

Stonington — Police charged a local woman with stabbing an unidentifi­ed man at the America’s Best Value Inn on Route 1 Saturday night.

Police said the victim was in stable condition Sunday at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Cikizwa “Pamela” Nkonzombi, 31, of 812 Stonington Road — the same address as the Best Value Inn — was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace and threatenin­g.

Police were dispatched at 8:40 p.m. to the hotel. Upon arriving at the room where the incident occurred, police said they found the victim with multiple stab wounds and serious injuries. The victim was transporte­d to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital and later was transferre­d to Yale New Haven Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

Police said Nkonzombi also threatened a resident of the motel after the stabbing. Police said they located her at the scene and took her into custody. She was being held Sunday on a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned today in New London.
