Stonington —Hazel (Will) Slack Harmacey of Stonington, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019.

Born March 7, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Wilmot B. and Nellie I. (Wilbur) Will of Groton. Raised in part by her grandparen­ts, Dudley and Deborah (Clark) Wilbur, she attended Mystic Academy School and married her husband, William Herbert Slack, in the Noank Baptist Church. She raised her family in both Stonington and Hope Valley, R.I. In addition to being a wife and mother, she worked at Yardley Electric and provided housekeepi­ng, child and elder care services outside her home. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and the companions­hip of friends and neighbors.

She is survived by her children, William E. Slack of Groton, Randall B. Slack and his wife Leslie of Torrington, and JoAnn Slack of Landenberg, Pa.; son-in-law, Nathanial P. Joslin of North Stonington; sister, Thelma E. Beauchamp of Mystic; four grandchild­ren, Patricia, Eileen, Daniel and Randall; and two great-grandchild­ren, Alyssa and Sabrina. She was predecease­d by her daughter, Pamela (Slack) Joslin of North Stonington; two husbands, William H. Slack and Walter Harmacey; four brothers, Wilmot C. Will, Earl M. Will, Clifford L. Will, and Richard A. Will; and three sisters, Florence Myers, Phyllis Burdick and Elsie Mae Will.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St., Mystic. Burial will immediatel­y follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Cemetery Lane off Route 3 in Hopkinton, R.I.
