NFA tabs veteran English teacher as house principal

Norwich — A veteran Norwich Free Academy English teacher was named Wednesday as the new Bradlaw House principal, overseeing teachers and staff responsible for the progress of students in the Class of 2022, NFA Head of School David Klein announced.

Tracey P. Dedonato, who has taught at NFA for 21 years, has served as English Department head for the past six years. She has been an active participant in NFA's School Data Team and is one of the architects of the new Senior Seminar in NFA's School to Work initiative to begin this school year, Klein said in a news release announcing the appointment.

“I have always considered myself lucky to work in such a diverse and dynamic community,” Dedonato said in the news release. “There is absolutely no place like NFA; the students, faculty, and staff are beyond wonderful to work with. I feel both privileged and humbled to have been chosen

to join the leadership team as Bradlaw House Principal. I cannot wait to get started!”

Dedonato holds an undergraduate degree from Providence College, a master’s degree from Central Connecticut State University, and a sixthyear degree in school administration from Sacred Heart University. She has served as an administrative intern in the Shattuck House under House Principal Kristin Peckrul.

“Tracey Dedonato is a person of impeccable character and integrity. I am delighted to welcome her as a member of the NFA Administrative Team,” Klein said in the news release. “She will lead the Bradlaw House with great enthusiasm, fairness, and an unwavering commitment to our students.”
