ONLINE FEEDBACK
At a chamber of commerce event last week Gov. Ned Lamont suggested he may have some ideas to transform the Seaside property. Here is what readers of theday.com thought of that:
“Why not start with a decision from the claims commissioner? I wonder how many commissioners have passed this through their hands? How much has this already cost the State for letting it sit? I guess the State doesn’t want a judge to decide?
“Am I reading in the article this filed claim has sat before the claims commissioner for several years & the Connecticut governor can’t make a decision? A public access for water uses so I guess that doesn’t pay the bills well enough?
“How can Connecticut make any forward movement for anything if this can’t be settled by a commissioner?” — Barbara Johnston
“I am not holding my breath. Seaside has been in limbo for almost twenty years.” — John W. Sheehan
“Mark Steiner cannot be involved in the development of Seaside period. Those who attended public meetings and do not rely solely on the reported word/opinion know that his failure to gain approval for his past proposals lies with him, his ever changing/ expanding plans and his inability to be completely open and forthright with the reviewing commissions.” — Cheryl Larder
“Inexcusably uninformed on activities right under its office-bound newshound noses, The Day colludes with Waterford’s attitude that though a state park, Town Hall is boss on this mess.
“A local millionaire is constructing a massive house right next to Seaside and a contractor with a minorities crew has been contracted to do a year or two’s detoxification (lead, asbestos, etc) on the public’s nickel to make the main building more attractive to Lamont’s RFP. So, where’s The Day on these two ongoing and major projects with respect to Seaside? On its butt inside The Day building writing editorials on Lamont’s cryptic Seaside comment at a biz breakfast in Norwich.” — Bud Bray
