Williams, Finke power Mitchell

Franklin, Mass. — Hasani Williams scored 28 to help lead Mitchell College to an 86-73 win over Dean in an New England Collegiate Conference men's basketball game on Saturday.

Matt Finke scored 22 and New London's Jalen Benson had seven assists for Mitchell (5-11, 2-1).

• Coast Guard lost to WPI 79-67 in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference game. Noah Baldez had 18 points and seven rebounds, Sean Graytok scored a season-high 14 and Tyler Perez and Packy Witkowski scored 11 each for Coast Guard (5-9, 0-4).

Women's basketball

• Coast Guard lost its NEWMAC opener, falling to Springfiel­d 80-69. Emma Puddington had 19 points, Kyra Hartman scored 15, Zoe Riis-Fallica scored a season-high 13 and Braynelle Carillo had 10 rebounds for Coast Guard (11-5).

• NECC-leading Eastern Nazarene (11-1, 5-0) won its ninth straight, beating Mitchell College 77-70. Amina Wiley had 17 points and 15 rebounds, Le'Sandra Turner had 18 points and nine rebounds and former New London standout Leilani McClellan scored 10 for Mitchell (7-8, 3-2).

• Carsen Keith of Preston had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Avery Point but the Pointers lost to Navy Prep 67-53 on Friday night. Ashley Burke scored 14, Julitza Delgado had 11 points, five rebounds and five assists and Keith blocked five shots for Avery Point (8-6).

Men's hockey

• Paul Capozzi and Steven Senese had a goal and an assist as Conn College rallied back from a two-goal deficit to tie Hamilton, 2-2, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game. Connor Rodericks had 35 saves for Conn (5-6-3, 4-4-1).

• Benjamin Freeman scored the game-winner as UConn beat No. 12 Northeaste­rn in overtime, 3-2, in a Hockey East game. Vladislav Firstov scored twice, Ruslan Iskhakov had two assists, Tomas Vomacka had 35 saves for UConn (9-104, 6-7-2).

Women's hockey

• Conn College tied Bowdoin 1-1 in a NESCAC game. Kaaren Liston of Conn tied the game on a goal with one minute left in the third period. Carly Denora made 24 saves for Conn (9-5-1, 3-4-1). Conn beat Bowdoin 3-1 on Friday night. Sammi Estes, Melissa Alexander and Kylie Wilkes scored for Conn.

Men's indoor track

• Coast Guard opened its season with a second-place finish at the Tufts Invitation­al. The Bears had 140 points, behind Bridgewate­r's 154.5. Coast Guard got first-place finishes from Javon Wingate in the long jump (21-6), Andre Gallant in the 3,000 (8:47.25), Josiah Davis in the 600 (1:21.91), Dominic Roberts in the 800 (2:06.04) and Ben Zarlengo in the weight throw (59-4.75). The 4x800 team of Jacob McGlumphy, Matt Doyle, Logan Bonner and Joseph Roth also won in 8:11.88.

• Conn College freshman Colm Seigne won the 800-meter run at Wheaton's Lyon Invitation­al on Friday night with a time of 1:59.61. Also for Conn, Matthew Sambor was third in the long jump (19-4.75) and Ben Vazquez was fifth in the 500 (1:07.40).

Women's track

• No. 12 Coast Guard opened its season with a third-place finish at the Tufts Invitation­al. Adora Lawrence, Leilani Salang and Maeve Roach won events for the Bears. Lawrence won the 400 (1:00.36), Salang won the weight throw (50-11) and Roach won the mile run in 5:17.58.

Coast Guard also got wins in the 4x200 relay with Kevilyn Frazier, Anna Beck, Michelle Kwafo and Lawrence running a 1:49.09, and the 4x800 team of Roach, Kirsten Carson, Olivia Suski and Mia Huncharek running a 10:29.07.

• Erica McSweeney and Alicia Palmer set Conn College records at Wheaton's Lyon Invitation­al on Friday night. McSweeney, a freshman, won the triple jump (35-7.25) and Palmer the 300 (42.13). Conn's Koko Mensah won the shot put (43-9.25) and was second in the weight throw (40-6), and teammate Leila Alfaro was second in the 60 high hurdles (9.69).

Men's squash

• Conn College beat Hamilton 7-2 on Friday night. Christophe­r Mach, Mikey Rodriguez and Samuel Piller were among the winners for Conn (5-6).

Women's squash

• Hamilton beat Conn College 5-4 on Friday night. Molly Carabatsos, Noelle Giuliano, Lili Vazquez and Birgitta Salvesen-Quinn won matches for Conn (7-6).
