Arlene Carson
Mystic — Arlene Joyce Carson, 78, Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, a lifelong resident of Mystic and mother of three, passed away with her children by her side after a brief battle with cancer. She had a strong will, easygoing personality, a wonderful sense of humor and a gentle heart.
She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Harold Jr., Russell “Huck” and Carl McLaughlin. Arlene is survived by her son, John Sanborn (Johnny) of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; daughters, Robin Jamerson of R.I. and Karen (Blake) Peterson of Highland, Mich.; sister Marie Burns of East Haven; sister-in-law Joan McLaughlin of Mystic; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Her family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at the Mystic Funeral Home located on Route 1 in Mystic. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at the Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic.
