Mitchell men sink 12 3-pointers in 72-48 win over Becker

New London — Mitchell College made a season-high 12 3-pointers, including four by Hasani Williams, as the Mariners rolled to a 72-48 victory over Becker College on Wednesday night in a New England Collegiate Conference men's basketball game.

Williams, who came into the game with just two career 3-pointers, scored a game-high 18 points for Mitchell (8-12, 5-2) while Elijah Baidoo came off the bench to score 12 points and Matt Finke added 11 points. Becker is 10-11, 3-5.

Women's basketball

• Zoe Riis-Fallica had 11 of her team-high 17 points in the fourth quarter leading Coast Guard to an 82-76 win over Wheaton in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference. Emma Puddington added 15 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season while Kyra Hartman added 14 points and Faith Butler tied her career-high with 10 points in the win for the Bears (14-7, 3-3).

H.S. wrestling

• Pins by Connor Doran (113 pounds), Jacob Foster (132), Caden Foote (145) and Jonathan Isgro (160) lifted Ledyard to a 46-22 victory over Montville. Mason Barnett (152) added a win by medical forfeit for the Colonels (18-6) while Caleb Phillips (126) earned a major decision and Brayden Grim and Davin McIver each won by decision. Raphael Vogt (182) and Frank Cook (195) had pins for the Indians (11-6), who also picked up a major decision from Mick Wynosky (138) and decisions by Blake Chapman (106) and Zach Doiron (220).

• Ruben Britos (285) had a pin and Norwich Free Academy accepted eight forfeits during a 67-15 win over Griswold. Christophe­r Grube (128) won by major decision for the Wildcats (13-8) and Jaiden James earned a 7-3 decision at 106.

• East Lyme/Norwich Tech built a 36-12 lead before holding on to defeat Waterford 42-39. The Vikings (10-14) picked up pins from Joseph Morse (106), Jeremiah Irizary (113), Michael Minevich (138), Chris Gill (170) and Evan Highley (285).

Men's swimming

• Coast Guard has moved back into the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Associatio­n of American Division III Top 25 dual meet poll at No. 15. The Bears went 8-2 during the dual portion of their schedule and begin the postseason on Feb. 20 at the four-day New England Women's and

Men's Athletic Conference Championsh­ip at MIT. They have finished second two of the last three years. MIT, the NEWMAC favorite, is ranked No. 4 nationally followed by three other New England programs — Williams (eighth), Tufts (10th) and Amherst (12th).

H.S. boys' basketball

• American School for the Deaf defeated Williams School 51-46. Grayson Guinan scored 19 points for the Blues.

• Grasso Tech beat Norwich Tech 59-55 in a Connecticu­t Technical Conference game on Tuesday night. Jacob Cortes and Dominick Martinez had 15 points each and Donnel Brown scored 13 for Grasso (5-10).

Girls' basketball

• Williams held American School for the Deaf to seven points in the first half on the way to a 49-22 victory. Olivia Kaplan scored 14 points for the Blues (3-7) while Anna Mae Saunders finished with 12 and Mary Surprenant had nine.

H.S. hockey

• The Eastern CT Eagles lost their third straight game, falling to North Haven 6-3 on Tuesday night. Will Cannella had two goals and an assist, Evan Tower had a goal and an assist, Ryan LoVetere had an assist and Rylin Fowler and Sean Buckley combined for 27 saves for the Eagles (6-6).

Women's hockey

• Natalie Witkowski and Sammi Estes had a goal and an assist each as Conn College beat UMass Boston 4-1 on Tuesday night. Ellie Branka had two assists and Lauren Helm and Camille Phelan scored goals for Conn (13-5-3).
