Police find wanted man under laundry in Jewett City; 2 women charged with hiding him.

Griswold — A man who was wanted by police was found hiding under a pile of laundry Saturday evening inside a Jewett City home that he was not allowed to be in, police said.

A protective order barred Dallas Czyzewski, 33, of Jewett City from being inside the home at 127 Slater Ave., but police Saturday found the man lying on a floor inside, partly hidden under a pile of laundry. His arm was sticking out of the pile, Connecticut State Police said.

Czyzewski, who once had lived in the multifamily home, was charged with violating a protective order.

Troopers from the Troop E barracks in Montville went to the home about 6:15 p.m. after a neighbor reported that Czyzewski was hiding inside. When they arrived, two women told police that he was not there and allowed them in to search the house. At least one of the women, Crystal Czyzewski, was related to the man, though police did not say how.

Both women, 34-year-old Crystal Czyzewski, who lives in the home, and 25-year-old Brittany Jones of Baltic, were charged with hindering prosecution. They were released on $1,000 bonds.

Dallas Czyzewski has multiple criminal charges pending, including third-degree assault, risk of injury to a child, violation of a protective order and interfering with an officer. He was taken to the Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center in Uncasville and was being held on a $50,000 cash surety bond.
