Montville boys improve to perfect 5-0 with 5-0 soccer victory over New London

Montville — Aaron Muncaster scored a pair of goals as Montville continued its perfect start with a 5-0 Eastern Connecticu­t Conference boys' soccer victory over New London on Wednesday night.

Liam Cook added a goal and an assist for the Indians (5-0), who did not allow a shot on goal, while Cesar Amaya and Zachary Handler each scored a goal and Brendan Duhamel added an assist.

Anthony Martinez made three saves in goal for the Whalers (1-4).

In other games:

• Anders Silberberg and Jesper Silberberg each had two goals and an assist as Old Lyme remained unbeaten with a 6-0 win over North Branford in a Shoreline Conference game. Owen Macadam and Tim O'Brien scored goals and Avery Welch, Nevin Joshy and Lucas Dasilva had assists for the Wildcats (3-0-1).

• Ledyard beat Bacon Academy 3-1 in an ECC game.

Daimon Pollard, Elijah Stein and

Peyton Luther scored goals, Nick Washington had an assist and Blake McLeod made eight saves for the Colonels (3-2), who trailed 1-0 at the break.

Harry Snow scored for Bacon (1-3). • Matt Pierce scored two goals and had an assist as Wheeler beat New London 4-3 in an ECC game on Tuesday. Keiran Boscoe and Michael Caster had goals for Wheeler (2-2) and Matt Ryan made five saves. Flavio Arevalo, Kervens Joseph and Jose Hernandez scored goals for New London (1-3).

Girls' soccer

• Ashley Spreng scored all three goals as Fitch beat New London 3-0 in an ECC game. Hannah Hurley and Allison Sousa had assists for the Falcons (2-3). Italia Sallas made 20 saves for New London (0-4).

• Alexis Fenton scored two goals and had two assists as Old Lyme remained unbeaten with a 7-0 win over North Branford in as Shoreline Conference game. Abby Manthous had two assists, Mackenzie Machnik, Grace Lathrop, Livie Bass, Kayla O'Leary and Maddie McCulloch scored goals and Ella Curtis-Reardon had an assist for Old Lyme (4-0).

Volleyball

• Lyman Memorial stayed unbeaten and handed Ledyard its first loss of the season, 25-9, 25-21, 25-14. Anna Mathewson and Kassidy LaTour had 23 digs each and Helen Megson had 10 kills and 13 digs for Lyman (5-0). Natalie Poulton had three kills and five digs, Codee Carroll had five digs and four assists and Paige Perkins had four blocks for Ledyard (3-1).
